Knowledge and attitudes of students of the Faculty of Dentistry of the University of Cuenca about the sterilization of dental handpieces

Introduction: Dentistry is a profession that, being exposed to great biological risk, requires strict compliance not only with biosafety standards but also the disinfection and sterilization processes of instruments used in clinical practice, including dental handpieces. Objective: To determine attitude level knowledge about handpieces, by students Faculty University Cuenca. Materials Methods: The instrument was Google Forms questionnaire, based on Likert scale, which applied fourth- fifth-year university establishment. Results: 19.2% mentioned that they strongly disagreed having received training, why their degree low, 53.3% presented positive attitude. Conclusion: have training handpieces; however, positive.\
